This is the second placeholder article. It exists so that the homepage has a featured piece and a list beneath it, and so that the journal index has something to index. The body copy is filler written in the house voice, and nothing in it should be mistaken for a finding.

A real article would open by quoting the claim as it appears on the carton, then say what kind of evidence would be needed to take it seriously. This one opens by saying that a real article would do that, which is the sort of thing placeholder copy is for.

Where the studies come from

Headings divide the piece. The paragraph under a heading tends to be the one that sets out what the section will do, and this one does exactly that, at ordinary length, with a placeholder link in the middle to show how links sit in running text.

The pull quote above is the article's own line, repeated for emphasis. It is not a quotation from anyone, which is why it carries no marks.

Block quotes carry borrowed words. This one is a placeholder standing in for a sentence lifted from a study, a label, or an interview, and it is long enough to wrap onto a second line so that the hairline beside it can be seen doing its job.

• A list item, for a claim that is easier to scan than to read.
• Another, slightly longer, so that the wrap can be judged.
• A third, to make it a list.

The closing paragraph says what the evidence supports, what it does not, and what nobody knows yet. It is short, because the reader has been patient.
